How do I remove road film from my car's windshield?

How do I get rid of the film on my windshield? It looks like it has an oily residue on it after driving in the rain.

“To get rid of road film, use white vinegar.
Here’s how:
  • Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar.
  • Spray it on the windshield.
  • Use a piece of newspaper or a paper towel to wipe down the windshield.
Hopefully, this will get rid of the film. If it doesn’t, you may need something a bit stronger. Many auto part stores carry high-strength cleaners that can remove it.
If the road film still isn’t gone, you might have a leak in your air conditioner or another problem. Do you have an
extended warranty
? It may cover the necessary repairs.
Otherwise, contact your
car insurance
company to see if your policy includes windshield replacement. If it doesn’t and you’re looking for a better policy at the best rate, the
