How do I remove old addresses from my credit report?

My credit report has the wrong address listed so the lender that I’ve been talking to won’t accept it. I don’t know how to fix it and I’m super annoyed! What should I do? How do I remove old addresses from my credit report?

That does sound annoying! Here are some ways that you can remove an old address from your
credit report
:
  1. Fill out a dispute form. This can often be done online via your company’s website.
  2. Send a letter. You can do this via mail, fax, or email. Just let the company know that they have some incorrect information on your report.
  3. Give them proof. Most credit companies will require some kind of proof that you’re not associated with the provided address. If this is the case for your company, ask what kind of information they want from you.
  4. Contact them again. If you don’t hear back from your credit company, make sure to follow up on your request!
While you’re fixing your credit report, take a moment to save on your car insurance, too. The
