“I’m sorry that’s happening, and good on you for taking action before it gets worse! To remove your car window molding, follow these steps:
  • Roll the window all the way down.
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the molding.
  • Use a small metal scraper to remove any adhesive or excess molding.
  • Sand the area to remove any leftover particles.
One heads up—if you’ve never done it before, removing the molding may prove difficult. Additionally, this damage might be covered under your
comprehensive coverage
or through your
car warranty
. It may not be covered, but it’s always worth it to double-check.
If you don’t have comprehensive coverage but are a little apprehensive about removing the molding yourself, it might be a good idea to add it to your plan. One easy way to do this is with the
Jerry
app—we’ll get you customized quotes from multiple providers so you can choose the plan that works best for you at the lowest price. If you find a policy or provider you want to switch to, we’ll help with that, too!
Best of luck on the window repair; you’ve got this!”
