Oh no! Sounds like you have a dried bug problem. Leaving bug splats on your vehicle can cause paint damage, and that’s because of the acidity levels from the bugs.
Below we go over how to remove bugs from your bumper. Before we get started make sure you have the following handy:
WD40
, a microfiber towel or road-kill sponge, and wax
Follow these steps to remove bugs from your bumper:
  • Wash your car with soap and water to better see the affected area.
  • Apply WD40 to the areas on your bumper encrusted with dead bugs. Let the WD40 soak for at least 10 minutes.
  • Use a microfiber towel or road-kill sponge to wipe and scrub off the bugs. Circular motion is best.
  • Wash your car again to remove residue left from cleaning products.
  • Apply wax to recoat the surface of your vehicle. A small amount will do—wipe off after a few minutes.
While WD40 can be used on your vehicle’s body, it should be applied to your windshield.
Removing bugs from your vehicle will not only help it look better, but it will also help prevent paint damage. Another way to protect your vehicle is by having great
