How do I remove a car repo from my credit reports?

I have a car repossession on my credit report from six years ago. Since then, I've been nothing but diligent and responsible about my credit. Can I remove this repo from my credit report somehow?

A car repossession from a
car loan
stays on your credit report for seven years, so in that regard, you’re only a year away. To this effect, you may just want to wait one more year to make any significant purchases. You should see your credit score rise significantly once the repossession falls off your credit history.
If the car repossession was an error, you could always dispute it with each credit bureau, but since it’s been six years, it’s likely a legitimate repo.
In the meantime, you should continue to make payments on time for all of your credit cards and other debt. You may also want to cut some of your expenses to pay down any of the debt you currently have.
One great way to do this is to look at your car insurance policy. The
Jerry
app lets you do just that. In just minutes, you can sign up and compare rates from 50+ car insurance providers, meaning you always get the best rate and coverage.
