How do I remove a car dent with a plunger?

Is it possible to remove a car dent with a plunger? My son accidentally hit my car with a baseball. It created a small dent, but I don't want to take my car to a body shop. I think I can fix it myself.

“It’s true—you can remove a car dent with a plunger. However, this method is far more effective on plastic parts of the car like the bumper.
To pull the dent out, pour boiling water on it. This will make the area more pliable. Next, put the plunger over the dent. Push the plunger inward, then pull it out rapidly. With any luck, this should remove the dent.
Keep in mind that if you have
comprehensive coverage
, it should cover the cost to repair the dent professionally. If you don’t, you may want to consider adding comprehensive coverage to your
car insurance
so you don’t have to worry about home remedies in the future.
