How do I remove a bumper sticker?

I just bought a cheap used car, and it’s still covered in various political bumper stickers from the previous owner. I tend to stay away from politics and I know that people can get crazy about it, so I want to remove them ASAP. What do I need to do to remove a bumper sticker?

Removing a bumper sticker from your vehicle is a simple process—much easier than
removing bugs, tar, or sap
. To remove a bumper sticker, follow these simple steps:
  1. Saturate a paper towel with rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, or an adhesive-remover like GooGone. Hold the towel onto the bumper sticker for about three minutes.
  2. Use a plastic scraper, such as a putty knife, to loosen one corner. If you don’t have one, a fingernail works just as well.
  3. Repeat this process as many times as necessary.
  4. Wash the area with hot, soapy water until the adhesive residue disappears. That’s it!
