“You definitely don’t want to drive
without insurance
, so addressing the problem now is a smart idea. Forgetting to make a payment can happen. Since you’re correcting it now, you should be able to reinstate your policy.
Most
car insurance
policies are eligible for reinstatement if you haven’t had a
lapse of insurance
for more than 30 days. Since you forgot to make a payment, you will probably have to pay your missed payment and possibly an additional fee.
Some insurance companies will not reinstate a policy if you missed a payment. The best way to find out what your options are is to contact your insurance company. An agent can tell you whether reinstatement is possible.
If reinstatement isn’t an option, don’t worry! You can still find insurance with another company.
Same-day car insurance
is also available, so you shouldn’t feel inconvenienced too much.
Shop around with a few different companies to find the best rate. If you don’t want to spend time gathering quotes, use
