How do I register a new car in Arizona?

I recently purchased a brand new car and it was delivered to my house yesterday. I know it is not ready to hit the roads yet and I was curious how to register a new car in Arizona?

Registering a new vehicle in Arizona, like most other states, is a simple process. It just requires a bit of documentation and a trip to your local DMV. However, if you purchased the vehicle through a dealership, you should first ask if they have already registered the car for you. Dealerships already have the required information to register the car and will often save you the DMV visit.
If the dealership has not already registered the vehicle, you will need to gather the following:
  • Your valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Proof of an emissions test (if applicable)
  • Proof of
    car insurance
  • Proof of ownership
  • Lien details if the car is financed
  • A completed title and registration application (Form 96-0236)
