How do I put a 2021 Nissan Rogue in neutral?

I’ve been borrowing my sister’s 2021 Nissan Rogue for a few days and I want to run it through the carwash before I give it back to her, but I can’t figure out how to get it into neutral. Can you help?

That’s so thoughtful of you! To put a
2021 Nissan Rogue
 in neutral, you need to follow these steps:
  • Release the parking brake, if it’s engaged
  • Depress and hold the brake pedal
  • Slide the shift lever to neutral (when you release, your car will re-enter Drive)
  • Slide the shift lever to neutral again and hold until you see a message on your instrument panel reading “Neutral Hold Mode has been activated”
Once you see this message, you know your 2021 Rogue is held in neutral so it will roll easily through the carwash.
