How Do I Protect The Catalytic Converter On My Honda Fit?

This is so annoying! I’ve had the catalytic converter stolen off of my Honda Fit twice! Twice! What are the odds of that? Can you give me any tips for preventing this from happening again?

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had your converter stolen! Sadly, it’s all too common with
Hondas
since a Honda converter is fairly easy to steal and can be sold for a good price. Here are some ways that you can protect the catalytic converter on your
Honda Fit
:
  • Install an aftermarket antitheft device on your Honda
  • Be careful where you park—always look for a well-lit spot with high visibility
  • Etch your license plate number onto the converter
If your
car insurance
policy includes
comprehensive coverage
, then some or all of the cost of replacing the converter should be covered.
If your policy doesn’t have comprehensive coverage, you might want to consider switching to a policy that does—doing so could also save you a lot of money!
