How do I properly insure a custom-built car?

I've been fixing up cars with my mother since I was little, and I recently purchased a kit car so I could customize it to my specifications. However, I'm mainly good with repairing and building cars—not so much with insuring them. How can I insure my custom-built car once I have it ready to roll?

To insure your custom-built car, you’ll meed to get kit car insurance.
Kit car insurance is a type of insurance that’s more similar to
classic car coverage
than traditional car insurance. This is due to a kit car having collectible status, meaning that it doesn’t suffer from depreciation like other types of vehicles.
Keep in mind: You can still choose liability, comprehensive, and collision coverage as you see fit, but the insurance policy may also have some caveats—for example, only being able to drive 5,000 to 7,000 miles a year.
