Programming a
Subaru Ascent
garage door opener takes just a minute—just park near the desired garage and have your garage remote control in hand.
Subaru uses the HomeLink system, which allows you to program up to three garage door openers from within your car.
Once you’ve parked near your garage, here’s a step-by-step guide to programming your Subaru Ascent garage door opener:
  • Press and hold the desired HomeLink button until the indicator light flashes
  • Hold your garage door clicker within two inches of the HomeLink and hold the clicker’s open button
  • Hold until your HomeLink light turns solid green. You are now connected
If the light begins flashing instead of turning solid, you’ll need to get out of your car and press the Smart or Learn button on your garage motor. Then you need to press the HomeLink button inside your car within thirty seconds. Having a helper makes this part easier!
