How do I polish my car trim?

I want to polish my car's plastic trim to make it look new as a surprise for my partner—we can't afford a new car, so I want to make our current vehicle look as good as possible! I'm not exactly sure where to start, though; how do I do this?

“What a sweet surprise! I’m happy to say that for polishing your plastic trim, you have several options:
  • Use a rotary polisher or a wool pad to get rid of any discoloration.
  • Use a restoration spray to remove dirt and blemishes.
  • Try a heating gun.
If none of these work, you may want to take your car to a repair shop. It might be a little on the pricey side, but it can help you retain the
retail value
of your vehicle.
You also may be able to avoid paying out of pocket for a polishing if vandalism is the cause of the damaged car trim, as in that case, you might be able to file a claim on your
comprehensive coverage
.
If you want to get comprehensive insurance to make sure that you’re covered for any eventuality, try using the
Jerry
app—we’ll get you customized quotes from top insurers in minutes, so all you have to do is pick the policy that works best for you.
Best of luck with the polish—and with the surprise!”
