How do I permanently turn off driving mode on an iPhone?

I’m an Uber driver and my iPhone automatically goes into Do Not Disturb mode when I’m driving. It’s super annoying and I want to disable it. How can I permanently disable driving mode on my iPhone?

Follow these steps to permanently turn off driving mode on an iPhone:
  • Step 1: Go to Settings > Focus, then tap Driving.
  • Step 2: Tap “While Driving” under “Turn on Automatically”.
  • Step 3: You’ll see three checkable options and one toggle option.
  • Step 4: To disable automatic drive mode, select “Manually” and toggle “Activate with CarPlay” to the off position.
Since you’re probably not always working when you’re driving your car, you can also disable drive mode just for your Uber trips by:
  • Step 1: Open the Control Center.
  • Step 2: Tap the driving button.
  • Step 3: Tap the driving button again to disable drive mode for that trip.
