How do I pass my CDL driving test?

I’m getting ready to take my CDL test next week, and I’m feeling a little nervous. I’ve read the manual back to front, but I feel like I could be doing more to make sure I’m ready. Any tips on helping me pass my CDL test?

Good luck with your CDL test! I understand that a test of any sort can be nerve-wracking, especially when that test involves driving big

! The most obvious advice I can give is to practice. It’s an old adage, but still the most effective.
You can prepare yourself for what the test will entail by visiting your state’s DMV website and finding out what the road test requires. Then, take it into practice as much as you can:
  • Practice straight-line, offset, and alley dock backing
  • Drive your semi around on the street, including busy intersections and traffic-dense roads
  • Do a few pre-trip inspections.
On the day of the test, make sure you’re going in with a clear head and the right mindset:
  • Avoid any stimulants like coffee or nicotine that can make you more anxious
  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Focus on what you know you can get right
Don’t focus on how many mistakes you’re allowed to make, or you’ll be setting yourself up for failure.
And when all’s said and done, be sure to fire up the
