How do I open the hood of a Dodge Dakota?

The oil light in my Dodge Dakota recently came on, but I can’t seem to figure out how to pop the hood—and I can’t find my manual! How do I open the hood of my car?

To open the hood of your
Dodge Dakota
, you’ll have to release two latches: the first is located on the driver-side of your car, under your steering wheel to the left. It’s shaped like a small lever and usually displays an icon of a car with an open hood.
The second is located under the hood of your car, just above the grille. Slide your hand just beneath the edge of your hood to locate the latch, then press it left to release. This safety latch ensures that if the lever inside your car is unintentionally pulled, your hood wouldn’t just fly open without warning!
From here, all that’s left to do is pop open your hood and maybe prop it open—and voila! You’re ready to tackle oil changes, engine inspections, and more.
Knowing what’s under your car’s hood is an important part of keeping your vehicle healthy—and so is keeping it insured with affordable
