Don’t worry; you’re not the only one who’s struggled with this!
To open the hood of a Chevrolet Malibu
, you’ll first need to pull the release lever inside your vehicle, located to the left of your steering column underneath your car’s instrument panel. If you’re having trouble telling which lever to pull, look for the icon that displays a car with its hood popped. Once you’ve pulled the release lever, you’ll want to exit your Malibu and circle around to the front of your car. Beneath the hood directly above the grille you’ll find the safety latch. To release it, push it to the left!
A common complaint among Malibu drivers is that the second safety release (the one under your car’s hood) gets stuck, making it difficult to open. If you’re running into this problem, try spraying WD-40 lubricant on the latch to help unstick it.
