How do I open the gas tank on a Honda Civic?

My sister got injured in a collision two months ago. I have moved in to help take care of her, and she added me to the title of her 2014 Civic so I can run errands. I need to get gas, but I don’t know how to open the gas tank. Is there a fuel release button on a Honda Civic?

That’s nice of you to take care of your sister!
To open the gas tank on a Honda Civic, look around on the left side of the driver’s side floorboard for the fuel release lever. It will be labeled with a graphic of a gas pump.
Somewhat counterintuitively, you’ll need to push the lever down to open the fuel door and access the gas tank. Pulling the lever up will release the trunk instead.
Since you are added to the title of your sister’s vehicle, you should also be added to the car insurance. Make changes to car insurance—and shop for a better-priced policy—with Jerry.
