To open the gas tank on a Ford Focus, look for the small indent on the outer fuel door and press then release.
Unlike other makes and models, the Ford Focus
eschews an interior fuel door release switch in favor of a sleeker spring-and-release mechanism. When you need to fuel up, simply park the car and turn it off. Go outside to the fuel door and find the small indent. Press it lightly and then release. The door should pop open.
Your Ford Focus probably has a capless fuel system. This means that there’s no gas cap to remove once you open the fuel door—how convenient! Ford’s Easy Fuel system also helps ensure that you only fill up the tank with the correct type of gas. If you happen to select the wrong fuel type, the
nozzle simply won’t fit!
Put the nozzle into the hole and you’re ready to start pumping. Once you’re done, shut the fuel door and press until you hear a click.
