How do I open the gas tank on a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage?

My parents just gave me a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage for graduation! I’m super stoked, but it’s time to fill up the tank, and I can’t figure out how to get the fuel door open. I don’t want them to think I can’t figure out my own car, so can you help?

Absolutely! And congratulations on both your graduation and your new car! Popping the fuel door on your
2017 Mitsubishi Mirage
 is simple—just follow these steps:
  • Open the driver’s side door
  • Find the fuel release lever on the floorboard, near the door jamb (it’ll be marked with a gas tank graphic, so you can’t miss it)
  • Pull up on the lever
You’re all set! You can now open and fill your tank. Since most new graduates aren’t necessarily loaded with cash, you’ll be happy to learn that your Mirage gets some pretty stellar fuel economy at 37 mpg combined. This means you won’t be spending all your money at the fuel pump.
Plus, other than simple unleaded fuel,
Mitsubishi
 doesn’t have any specific recommendations about fuel grades. This means there’s no need to spring for high-octane premium fuels.
