How do I open a Lincoln MKZ gas tank?
I recently bought a 2020 Lincoln MKZ, and I’m trying to get familiar with driving it. I know I’ll have to head to the gas station soon, but I can’t find the fuel door release switch, so how do I open the Lincoln MKZ gas tank?

You couldn’t find the fuel door release switch because there isn’t one! Lincoln tries to streamline the refueling process so you don’t have to search for the switch inside the cabin.
Instead, to open the gas tank on your
Lincoln MKZ
, get out of the car and walk over to the fuel filler door. Press the center rear edge of the door and let go. This releases the door, so you can pull it open. It’s as easy as that!There’s not even a gas cap for you to unscrew. Lincoln uses the Easy Fuel system, so you simply insert the gas nozzle and start filling up. When you’re all done, just remove the nozzle and press the fuel filler door closed.
Oh, and when you refuel, it’s fine to use regular gasoline with an octane rating of 87, although Lincoln recommends splurging on premium fuel with a 91 octane rating if you live in a hot climate or plan on towing a trailer. Whatever you do, don’t use fuel with an octane rating below 87, or you’ll notice poor performance.
Lincoln also mentions that it’s normal for the engine to knock occasionally, but if it knocks heavily or constantly, it’s a good idea to get a Lincoln technician to check out your MKZ.
