Ahhh, yes car manufacturers do like to make the hood release lever inconspicuous! No worries, though, once you know where the lever is, opening your car’s hood is easy.
To open a Dodge Caliber hood:
  • Pull the hood release lever. This is found near the floor on the driver’s side. After you pull the lever, the hood should pop up a bit.
  • Release the hood safety latch. Feel under the center of the hood for the latch that is anchoring the hood. Move that latch over to the left and then open the hood fully.
  • Prop the hood open. Using the hood prop that can be found laying horizontally towards the grille, prop the hood open. The end of the prop pole will fit into a slot on the underside of the hood.
And that’s it! Once you get the hang of the hood latch, opening your Caliber’s hood is a piece of cake. In fact, it’s almost as easy as shopping for car insurance with the top-rated app for car insurance comparison, Jerry.
