How do I open a Cadillac ATS hood?

I feel a bit silly asking, but I can’t seem to figure out how to open my Cadillac ATS’s hood and I want to check my oil level. How does the hood pop open?

This is a very common question that many car owners have because car manufacturers like to place the hood release latches in inconspicuous spots. To open a Cadillac ATS hood:
  • Locate and pull the hood release lever. For a Cadillac ATS, it will be located on the underside of the dash on the lower left driver’s side and it will depict an image of a car with its hood up. Pull the lever towards you until you feel and hear the hood pop.
  • Release the safety latch. Head to the front center of your vehicle and feel under the hood for the safety latch. Push it to the right to open your hood all the way.
That’s it! It may take you a time or two to get used to the safety latch, but opening your Cadillac hood is pretty easy. Almost as easy as using Jerry to shop for your car insurance.
