Unfortunately, you can’t negotiate the price offered by your provider.
But you can lower your costs by:
  • Raising your deductible. You pay
    your deductible
out-of-pocket for every claim. If you have a high deductible, your monthly rates will be lower. The trade-off is you get less payoff for every claim.
  • Lowering your coverage, especially on older vehicles. Losing your comprehensive or collision coverage will save you money month-to-month. This option will leave your vehicle open to serious repair costs, however.
  • Asking about discounts. Many insurance providers offer discounts for drivers who bundle their home and auto insurance, take a defensive driving class, or drive with a telematics device in the car, among other possible discounts.
  • Looking for a new policy. The insurance broker app
    Jerry
can compare dozens of quotes from top insurance providers to get you the policy you need at the lowest price.
