I pay $150 a month for insurance. I can afford my current payment, but if I could lower it, budgeting would be easier. What are ways that I can lower my monthly payment?

While you can afford your current
car insurance
payment, saving money is a reasonable goal.
One way you can lower your monthly payment is by looking at your current coverages. If you have a financed or leased vehicle, you can’t reduce or remove your
comprehensive coverage
and
collision coverage
, but you still have options!
Removing optional coverages like towing and labor or roadside assistance can help you save a bit of extra money every month. You can also call to speak with an agent at your insurance company to confirm what coverages you can reduce or remove to cut your premiums.
While speaking with your agent, see if you’re eligible for additional discounts. Enrolling in a driving behavior or telamatics program is a great way to save without having to do any extra work.
Beyond having the right amount of coverage and discounts, always shop around.
Comparison shopping with multiple companies is a great way to find the
most affordable rates
. You can shop around by requesting quotes from companies yourself or with
Jerry
.
Jerry collects quotes from the top insurance companies and helps you switch plans without any hassle!
Ideally, you should find a new policy or enough discounts with your current company to help you budget and lower your monthly payment.
