Your car insurance policy number should be pretty easy to find if you have your insurance card on hand. The number is usually towards the top of the card, and it is generally between nine and 13 characters long.
If you’re not sure where your insurance card is, it’s likely you put it somewhere safe in your car to have
proof of insurance
. Look in the following places:
  • Glove compartment
  • Car visor
  • Center console
You’ll also be able to find your policy number digitally. You can generally access it through your provider’s website, and it might be on any email communication you’ve gotten from the company. For even easier access, download your provider’s app to have a digital copy on your phone.
