How do I know my car insurance details?

Is there an easy way to know all your car insurance details? I’m filling out a form that’s asking about my coverage; I don’t know where I can find the information.

“If you need to know more about your car insurance details, you should start by reading your policy’s
declarations page
. The declarations page will provide you with a clear list of coverages you’ve purchased.
It will also include:
  • Your personal information and policy number
  • Other named drivers on your insurance
  • Coverage level, limits, deductibles, and premium for each coverage
  • How much you pay for each coverage
  • Deductions
  • Insured vehicles
  • Your policy period
  • Discounts and surcharges
If you’d like to view your declarations page, you can take a look at the paper copy of your policy. Most insurance agencies will also have your policy available online if you make an account on their website. If you’re not satisfied with what you find on your declaration page, it might be time to level up your insurance coverages.
