models have a limited-slip differential. This can vary by model, year, and trim level, so the best way to find out if you have it is to call your Miata dealer (or a Miata dealer if you bought the car used
) with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
and ask.The limited-slip differential works by transferring power between the wheels on uneven surfaces to reduce individual wheel spin. So if you have one wheel with a lot of traction and one wheel with a lot less, a limited-slip differential will transfer torque to the wheel with more traction.
