How do I jump start a tesla model S?

My battery is dead in my Tesla. I guess because it’s an electric car I didn’t think this would happen. How do I jump-start a Tesla Model S?

I’m sorry to hear about your dead battery. To start you need to open the frunk (front trunk) of your
Tesla
. To do this you need to:
  • Go to the front bumper on the driver’s side.
  • There should be a large circle, press the top right until it goes inward and opens this cover.
  • This is the tow hook, there should be two wires, pull them out (gently).
  • Take a 12V jump starter and put the red cable to your car’s red cable. And black cable to the black cable.
  • Adding power will pop your front trunk open, then carefully disconnect, black first then red.
  • Return the tow cover to how you’d found it.
  • Above the trunk compartment should be the 12V battery. Remove the black panel that covers it.
  • On the passenger side you’ll find a cabin intake panel, pull upwards on the clips to remove this.
  • Connect red to red. Red is positive or a + sign.
  • Connect black to black. Black is negative or a - sign.
  • Turn on your jump starter and wait about 10 minutes. Give it time.
  • Remove cables the same as with the tow hook. Black first or (-) and then red (+).
  • Replace everything and take your car somewhere to charge.
If you don’t have access to a 12V jump starter then having roadside assistance can help. With the
Jerry
app in your pocket, you’ll never have to worry about being stranded again. Jerry partners with a monthly roadside assistant to provide jump starts, lockout service, key replacement, and towing.
Hope you get back onto the road soon!
