How do I insure a second car?

Is there an easy way to insure a second car? I am about to buy a second car and I don’t know how to shop for a policy for multiple cars.

“You can insure a second car by buying a separate policy or adding it to your existing one. Remember, adding a second car to an existing policy will almost always be cheaper than buying a second policy. In fact, your second car might make you eligible for a multicar discount. These policies often come with sizeable discounts and savings, but you’ll need to meet these requirements:
  • Both cars will need liability coverage.
  • Both cars must be private passenger vehicles.
  • Both cars will usually need to be registered in the policyholder’s name.
  • Both cars will need to be parked at the same address.
