First, get several car insurance quotes for the vehicle you want. Pick the quote that offers the right coverage for the best price.
Then go to the dealer and get all the paperwork done for the vehicle purchase.
Next, call the insurance company while you’re at the dealer and tell them you want to buy the policy you were quoted. Pay your premium over the phone. They will send proof of insurance to the dealer.
Have the dealer confirm receipt of the proof of insurance and you’re done.

Does a driver need to be identified for an uninsured motorist claim in North Carolina?
I have uninsured motorist property damage coverage. My vehicle was hit and I'm not sure who the driver is. I reached out to my insurance company and they initially said that it would be covered, but now it's looking like it won't be. Does a driver have to be identified for coverage?
