How do I get salt off my car interior?

I just pulled my old truck out of the garage to prep it for winter. I didn’t clean it much before putting it in storage; now, I have all of these salt stains. How do you remove salt spots from the inside of a car?

Salt stains happen from time to time, especially if you live somewhere with snowy or icy winter weather. Luckily, the solution is quick and easy!
Here is a list of the items you need to get salt off your car’s interior:
  • Empty spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Scrub brush
  • Hot water
  • Shop vacuum cleaner
Then, just follow these steps:
  • Fill the water bottle with 50% hot water and 50% vinegar.
  • Spray the solution on the affected area and let it soak for a few minutes. Avoid oversaturating the material.
  • Then, scrub away with your scrub brush until the stains are gone. You can repeat these steps as much as necessary.
  • Once done, use towels and/or a shop vac to remove any excess solution from the carpet. If you don’t have a shop vac, it usually only costs $1 to use one at a car wash.
Now that your truck is ready for winter, make sure you have a good roadside assistance plan in place. If you’re looking for roadside assistance at a great price, try
