I’m so sorry that’s happening, and you definitely need to remove that wasp nest asap! Here’s what to do:
Wear protective clothing that helps keep you from coming in contact with wasps.
At dusk, step 15 feet away and spray the wasp nest with the wasp killer of your choice. Dusk is the time where wasps return to the nest and you want to make sure you get all of them.
As the wasps stop coming out of the nest, carefully walk closer to the nest and continue spraying.
If you don’t see any more movement from the nest, go ahead and remove it.
If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself, that is perfectly understandable! If that’s the case, call your local exterminator—it’s always best to trust the experts with issues like these!
No matter what you choose, you’ll need to wait a day or two to make sure that the wasps did not return.
If there are a lot of wasps around where you park your car, consider investing in a car cover to prevent the wasps from nesting again.
If you want to make sure every part of your car is protected, you might want to review your insurance policy. If it’s time for a new plan, the Jerry
app is here to help! We’ll get you personalized quotes from top insurers so that all you need to do is choose the plan that works best for you—and when you’ve chosen one, we’ll even help you switch, too. Best of luck getting rid of your new pests!
