I live in Illinois. I’m applying for jobs right now and I’m worried that my driving record is going to hurt me. Can I get a reckless driving charge dropped?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re worried about your job prospects! In order to get reckless driving off of your record in Illinois, you’ll need to file a Request to Expunge with the court.
However, you will only be eligible for to have the charge removed (aka expunged) if you meet the following criteria:
  1. You received court supervision.
  2. You have no other
    DUI
or reckless driving convictions on your record.
  3. You were under 25 at the time of the conviction.
  4. You are now over 25.
If you don’t meet these criteria, unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for expungement in the state of Illinois.
