How do I get car insurance for a day? I’m borrowing my friend’s car for a day trip, but I don’t have car insurance.

“There is no such thing as one-day car insurance. But I have good news—you can still take your friend’s car for a ride and enjoy peace of mind knowing that you’re covered.
Check in with your friend—ask if her insurance company allows for permissive use. If that’s the case, car insurance follows the car, meaning you’ll be covered under her car insurance policy since she’s granted you
permission to use her vehicle
for the day.
If the insurance company does not allow for permissive use, you can ask your friend to add you to her policy, especially if you plan to borrow the car often.
Note that a typical car insurance policy lasts a minimum of six months. So beware of scams offering one-day coverage since most reputable companies will not.
