How do I get my name off of a car loan?

Unfortunately I am going through a breakup and want to get my name off of the car loan my partner and I have together. Is this possible?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through a breakup! I have some good news for you. You can get your name off of a car loan you have with someone else.
All you have to do is
refinance
the loan. If you want your name off of the loan, this means your ex-partner needs to refinance the loan in their name.
The challenge is, whoever is taking over the loan has to be able to qualify for the new refinanced loan. If they can’t prove they can afford the payment by themselves or if they have bad credit, then you’re out of luck.
If this is the case, recommend that your ex searches for a cosigner. Refinancing with a cosigner means your ex and their cosigner will assume ownership of the loan, allowing your name to be removed.
