How do I get my license back?

I was rear-ended a couple of weeks ago and my license was suspended because the officer couldn't verify my proof of insurance. I have insurance, and the company is supposed to call to get the issue resolved with the police, but I can't get them to do anything and I need my license back. Do I just suck it up and pay the fee to get my license back even though I don't technically owe it?

“This is a difficult situation to be in but should be easy to resolve. Usually, this is something that you take care of yourself.
The first step is to get a copy of your current ID card and a letter from your
car insurance
company stating that you did have an active insurance policy on the date in question.
The letter from your insurance company should have the following:
You may still be stuck paying the fine for the
license suspension
. If this was an error that your insurance company made, they should reimburse you the cost of the fee.
Once this is all settled, it might be good to shop for a new insurance company. The
