How do I get my car out if I get stuck in the snow?
I live in northern Minnesota and my car gets stuck in the snow regularly because I have to park on the street. Most of the time, I just ask if I can work from home, but this is wearing thin. How can I get my car unstuck?

has some harsh winters, but you can still get your car unstuck with or without assistance.Perhaps the most effective way to get your car out of the snow is the back-and-forth or rocking method. The idea is simple: put your car in drive and then reverse and repeat as many times as necessary to get out of the snow. You can also dig your tires out for some added traction.
If that doesn’t work, try one of these other simple methods:
- Add some traction around your tires with a piece of wood or kitty litter.
- Have neighbors, friends, or family members push you out
- Take a bit of air out of the tires to increase surface area and get more traction.
- Shift to a lower gear
