GEICO
allows most policyholders to reinstate their policy.
Here’s what it takes to get a “reissue” and get your policy back up and running:
  • Pay any past due premium
  • Pay at least the first month’s premium
Note that your policy will not be back active (or reissued) until the day after your reissue payment is made.
Be very careful to find out whether you’re covered or not. If your policy is already canceled, you shouldn’t drive until you figure out how to reinstate your coverage. Note that a
lapse in coverage
can affect your
car insurance rates
once you’re covered again.
If you're not able to make your payment on time: GEICO customers who use auto-pay have the option to log in prior to their due date and postpone the payment by a maximum of nine days.
