.This gives you
liability coverage
while you drive any car, no matter who owns it. If you were to get into an accident while driving a friend’s car, your non-owner car insurance would pay for damages that exceed the policy limits on your friend’s insurance plan.However, non-owner car insurance is most helpful when you are frequently borrowing someone else’s car. If you only borrow a car for a few weeks out of the year, this coverage may not be worth the investment.
Car insurance
usually follows the car instead of the driver, meaning that, as long as the owner of the vehicle has an active insurance policy, you’ll be protected in the event of an accident. But note that there are some exceptions to this, including:- If the provider requires all potential drivers to be named on the policy.
