How do I get better premium rates with a spotty driving record?

I'm a 20-year-old male driving a 2017 Honda Civic. In the last year, I got pulled over for a speeding ticket, someone hit me in a parking lot, and I was in a fender bender. I don't consider myself to be a bad driver, but now my insurance wants to charge me $500 a month. What are my options?

“Unfortunately, as a young male driver with several claims in the past year,
car insurance companies
consider you high risk. But this doesn’t mean there isn’t anything you can do!
Many insurance companies offer discounts if you take a
driver training course
or enroll in a telematics program. You can reach out to your current company to determine whether you qualify for any additional discounts.
Although you’re unlikely to see substantially better rates because of your driving record, you could try comparing policies with several insurers, like
GEICO
or
Progressive
.
You should also shop around every six months or so. As your ticket and accidents age, your rates should improve if you maintain a
clean driving record
.
