How do I get a copy of my National General insurance ID card?

I just purchased a new insurance policy through National General, and I haven’t gotten my ID card in the mail yet. How do I get a copy of my insurance ID card to use until it arrives?

Getting a copy of your National General insurance ID card is simple—all you need to do to get your National General insurance ID card is log into your account online, or download the National General mobile app on your smartphone.
If you want a paper copy of your
proof of insurance
, you’ll need to log into your NatGen account online and follow these steps:
  • Visit mynatgenpolicy.com, and click on Get ID Cards.
  • Select the ID card for your new policy.
  • Select download and print.
An even simpler way to get your hands on your ID card is to download the NatGen mobile app for Apple and Android devices. Once downloaded, just sign into the app with your account info, and you’ll have access to a digital ID card.
You can
show proof of car insurance on your phone
in every state except
New Mexico
and
Massachusetts
. If you plan to do any driving in either of those states, you’ll need to print yourself a hard copy to prove you have adequate
car insurance
.
No matter where you live, make sure you have some form of acceptable proof of insurance before you get behind the wheel again. No one wants to deal with the penalties for
driving without car insurance
