How do I get a car seatbelt unstuck?

My car seatbelt is constantly sticking and it's super annoying. I don't have great motor control, and so pulling at it constantly is getting really tiresome. Are there any hacks to get a car seatbelt unstuck?

“Stuck car seatbelts are the bane of just about everyone’s existence; you’re not alone! To get a car seat belt unstuck, here’s what you do:
  • Pull down on the seat belt a few times to try and release the auto-lock function.
  • Remove the plastic covers that hold the seat belt.
  • Take the seat belt out completely and get rid of any tangles or kinks.
  • Allow the seat belt to roll back into place.
If you still can’t get the seat belt unstuck, you may want to contact your
car insurance
to see if this situation falls under your comprehensive coverage. It’s more than likely something that will be covered by an extended warranty, but it’s worth it to call anyways.
If your seat belt is stuck, you can’t comfortably sit in your seat and you may put yourself at risk for a
traffic citation
for not wearing a seatbelt.
If you can’t get it unstuck and it’s not covered under comprehensive coverage, you might think about shopping around for insurance that does cover it under their comprehensive coverage. The
Jerry
app can be a really useful tool for this—we’ll get you customized quotes from multiple providers so that you can make sure you have all your needs (including seatbelt-related ones) covered.
Happy unsticking and drive safely!”
