How do I fix cigarette burns in the car seat?
What can I do to fix cigarette burns in the car seat? My ex-boyfriend used to smoke all the time in my car. I don’t like the appearance of these burns on my upholstery car seat.

or burns on the car seat can be tricky, but there is a way to repair the appearance of your seat. To fix cigarette burns in the car seat, you will need: - Mayonnaise (I promise this isn’t a prank!)
- Scalpel or a butter knife
- Clean, wet cloth
- Fabric glue
For more shallow burns, the process is a bit simpler. To repair your car’s seats from cigarette burns, do the following:
- Spread a little mayonnaise on the burned area to help remove burn marks from the fabric seat. Let the mayonnaise sit for a few minutes, then wipe it off using a wet cloth.
- Take a scalpel to scrape off any leftover burn marks.
- Cut a piece of fabric from under the seat that matches the area where the burn happened.
- Use fabric glue to stick the piece of fabric you just cut out over the burn area.
- Let the glue dry naturally.
For larger and deeper burns, you may have to fill the holes, patch the seats, get your seats reupholstered, or get seat covers (for a quick and easy fix).
