Oh no! We’re sorry to hear about your damaged bumper. To fix a hole in a plastic bumper, you may need repair adhesives and auto paint.
Here are the four steps involved in fixing a small hole in a plastic bumper:
  • Sand the area around the hole to ensure a smooth surface
  • Affix a piece of repair adhesive to the inside of the bumper
  • Apply adhesives to the exterior of the bumper, following the manufacturer’s instructions
  • When dry, sand smooth and paint over the area
Note that body filler is not generally recommended for plastic repairs.
Large holes may require a completely different treatment, such as plastic welding with polypropylene ribbon. This repair is typically handled by a body repair shop. It requires specialized materials, protective gear, and a well-ventilated area.
