How do I fix a dented car hood?

Last week someone vandalized all the cars parked on my block with a baseball bat, including my own. Now there is a dent in my car hood and I don’t have comprehensive or collision insurance. How do I fix the dent in the hood of my car?

I’m sorry to hear someone dented your hood with a baseball bat! Here are two methods you can use to fix your dented car hood and avoid paying out of pocket for repairs:
  • The mallet method. Remove the hood of your car and place it upside down on grass or carpet to avoid scratching the pain. Lightly pound the edges of the dent, working your way towards the center until it knocks back into place.
  • The plunger method. Place the plunger over the dent, pump it, and pull the plunger to remove it. This method only repairs mild dents in your car.
If neither of these methods work or you’d don’t think you can manage them, visit a car body shop for
