If you can’t find your
car insurance
information, you should reach out to your car insurance company. They should be able to search for your policy in their system.
They will likely need some personal information like:
  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your car’s make, model, and/or vehicle identification number (VIN)
Once they find you, they can send you
proof of insurance
or copies of your insurance cards.
If you have an online account through your insurance company’s website or mobile app, you should be able to access your policy information without calling.
Another option is to look through your email. Most car insurance companies send things electronically, so you may find your policy information in your inbox.
Should you still be unable to find any information, you’ll need to reach out to your local DMV. Most car insurance companies send your insurance information to the DMV. Since the DMV verifies coverage, they would have a record of your insurance policy.
