How do I find insurance on another car?

I accidentally hit someone’s car on my way out of a parking spot. I had to get to work so I left my contact information and insurance details on a note and stuck it on their windshield. But I’m curious to know if they have insurance. How do I find insurance on another car?

If you’ve hit someone’s car, you should always report it to the police. They can help you file a report and get in contact with the car’s owner. The police report is very important in your situation as it’s the only way that you can acquire someone else’s car insurance information.
With the police report, you would have just reason to request the other driver’s insurance information. You can request this info from either the police department or DMV.
Since you left your information, you can expect to be contacted by the other person’s insurance company anyway. But you should still try to file a report with the police if you can.
