How do I find cheap home insurance?
I'm purchasing my second home. I had a good insurance policy with my car insurance company, but the rate for my new home is too expensive. How can I find cheaper insurance?
“To find cheap home insurance, shop around. Since your current car insurance company isn’t offering you a good rate, you should look elsewhere.
The easiest way to do this is to request quotes online. If you’re willing to switch your car insurance as well, you may be able to find a better deal by bundling your home and auto policies with another company.
When you have more than one policy with a company, you typically receive a discount on both policies. This may save you more money than keeping your current car insurance policy and getting a separate home insurance policy.
You should also review your home details to see what additional discounts you may qualify for. Sometimes having certain safety features in your home can get you a discount with companies.
If you’ve requested quotes and still aren’t happy with the cost, try working with an insurance broker. Companies such as Jerry work with multiple companies and they may be able to find you a better rate for the coverage you require.”
